Yay, it's finally lunch time. But, because it's a week day, we don't have time to cook something fancy. That's too bad. A day at school can be pretty rough. Imagine having to stare at a human being for 3 hours or so, and having to memorize most of his knowledge. Harsh. Lunch break is our saviour, so we'll make our saviour worth it by cooking something nourishing and delicious.
The hard part about lunch is restraining yourself from going to fast food restaurant, because those sly fox know how to make you drool over their food, either for the price, the smell, or even the look (maybe not the look, if you know what I mean), and the billions of options. What I mean by that is that there are fast food restaurants everywhere, and lots of different places who offer different menus. The thing they all have in common, is the risk of heart disease they hand out to each client. If you wanna eat a hamburger, stick with me. I'll show you something better which will make you happy campers.
This is the easiest salad I have ever made by far. Only 5 ingredients. Lettuce, caned tuna (but you can use whatever is your favorite canned protein), potatoes (it can be sweet potatoes if you prefer), sweet peas (they can be bought frozen, it's less expensive) and olive oil. You cook your potatoes with a little bit of garlic, salt and pepper until soft, and you mix everything with a drizzle of olive oil. You can add a pinch of salt and pepper to the mix if you want. This will keep you full all afternoon.
We can never go wrong with a sandwich. This is no exception. Only 6 ingredients. Bread, of course (always go for whole wheat, because white bread has zero nutriment so you'll be hungry 5 minutes later). Next we got pesto, tomatoes, kale, turkey and Swiss cheese but that's optional. You spread a good amount of pesto on your bread, add salt and pepper, drop your tomatoes, and finally add turkey, kale and cheese. Close this bad boy and enjoy.
